ヤフオクで肥前陶磁器に関する本を探していたとき、パッと目に付いたのが 『誰にも出来る 楽焼の仕方』 という、大正四年発行のこの本でした。
著者は高山流月という人で、他にも色々な著作を遺しているようではあるのですが、特に人物紹介系のHPがあるでなく、Wikipediaなどもなく、どのような人物であるかはイマイチ分かりません。
とはいえ、少なくともこのような焼物の本を書くのですから、風流な人であったのでしょう。
本の自序に、このようなことが書かれています。
人間はパンや飯丈では生活が出來無い時には茶も茶菓子も必要である如く、今日の時代は高尚の娯樂を要求せることは事實である、(原文ママ)
要するに、人生には趣味や嗜好品が必要不可欠である、と。
人はパンのみにて生きるにあらず、というヤツですね。
ちなみに内容は、そのまんま当時の初心者向け楽焼製法指南といったものです。
ただ、ある程度は余裕のある人向けに書いたものだと思います。
……って、まぁ、大正四年当時に焼物をやってみようと考えて、わざわざ指南書を買うような人間は、基本的に金と暇を持て余した富裕層ですよねw
俺もいつか、自分で焼いてみたいものです。
暇はともかく、金はありませんがw
